Philips joins forces with leading experts on its journey towards simplicity
Royal Philips Electronics (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHI) today announced the creation of the Simplicity Advisory Board (SAB). Its aim is to provide additional outside perspective into how the Philips brand promise - Sense and Simplicity - can be applied to everything the company does within the healthcare, lifestyle and technology markets.
Philips first to announce integrated Video Watermarking product 'RepliTrack'
Today Philips announced the launch of 'RepliTrack', a turn-key video watermarking solution for forensic tracking purposes. The product comes as ready-to-install software that will work on PC compatibel with Windows 2000 or later version, and works in conjunction with existing professional recordable DVD replication equipment. RepliTrack can be used to embed a unique watermark into a DVD disc that will play on any DVD player. Any copy of the disc, be it a VHS tape or a peer-to-peer file, still carries the watermark allowing the origin of illegal copies to be traced. RepliTrack will benefit the Indian film industry as this would help them in their fight against piracy.
Philips To Expand Innovation Campus In India
Bangalore, India: Philips today announced plans to expand the Philips Innovation Campus (PIC) located in Bangalore, India. The Philips Innovation Campus expects to double its current workforce of 1300 people by 2007. An investment of US$50 million will be made in workplace infrastructure, over the next five years to keep pace with the planned expansion. From the last quarter of 2005, the PIC organization will gradually migrate to a new, sprawling 55,000 square meter state-of-the-art campus in Bangalore designed around its engineers, and facilitating an easy to experience work environment with advanced features.
